ABOUT MESTRANDO ANJO
Mestrando Anjo is from Uberlandia Minas Gerais, Brazil and started Capoeira when he was 13 years old, with Mestre Caranguejo, Mestre Baleia e Grao Mestre Corisco. He started to teach Capoeira after he had been training for 3 years. The first area that he taught in was a rough area of his town where he learnt a lot from different people.
He learned how to communicate and teach people from all walks of life, including people with violent backgrounds. He continued to teach in different areas for the next 8 years and built a successful Capoeira group.
It was at this point in his teaching career that he had an opportunity to bring his style of Capoeira to the UK. He settled in Leicester for 2 ½ years and started to build a successful Capoeira group.
In 2003 he again had an opportunity to take his style of Capoeira to a new land, and decided to go to Northern Ireland for a year. He began teaching children and adults in the main Sports Centre in the city where he had about 20 students, roughly 3/4 of them were between 5-16 years old.
He then moved to Leamington which is where he is currently situated and has built up Capoeira classes in the surrounding area. |
